Summary. This paper evaluates off-grid photovoltaic mini-grid systems for rural electrification in Nigeria. Using HOMER Pro, SAM, and MATLAB software, researchers designed and modeled a system for a northern Nigerian community. The PV array generated sufficient electricity for local demand, with a levelized cost of energy of 37.01 naira per kilowatt-hour. Machine learning algorithms accurately forecasted short-term load demand, demonstrating technical feasibility for rural electrification.
