Indigenous innovation and entrepreneurship as drivers of socio-economic transformation in Ghana
Summary. Indigenous innovation and entrepreneurship in Ghana drive socioeconomic development through culturally embedded knowledge systems and traditional practices. A survey of 362 indigenous entrepreneurs across three regions found significant positive correlations between indigenous innovation techniques and employment generation, income growth, and cultural continuity. The study demonstrates that indigenous innovation preserves cultural identity while supporting local economic development and community resilience, offering evidence that grassroots entrepreneurial practices rooted in tradition contribute meaningfully to national development.
