Summary. This study designs and optimizes off-grid hybrid renewable energy systems for five rural locations in Bangladesh, comparing solar, wind, and four battery storage technologies. Simulations using real resource data show that solar-wind systems paired with zinc-bromine flow batteries deliver the lowest costs and highest renewable penetration, achieving 100% renewable energy with zero emissions. The findings demonstrate that zinc-bromine battery systems provide a cost-effective, scalable solution for rural electrification in Bangladesh and similar regions.
