Energy Management and Optimization of a Standalone Renewable Energy System in Rural Areas of the Najran Province
Summary. This paper designs and analyzes a standalone renewable energy microgrid for a rural community in Saudi Arabia using solar and wind power. The optimized system reduces electricity costs to 0.18 SAR/kWh compared to 0.38 SAR/kWh from conventional generation. Advanced control mechanisms ensure the system reliably handles fluctuating renewable supply and varying demand, demonstrating technical and economic viability for decentralized rural electrification.
