Renewable energy-based hybrid model for rural electrification
Summary. Researchers developed a hybrid renewable energy system combining biomass, biogas, and solar power to electrify rural areas in India where grid electricity is unavailable. They modeled the system for a site in Haryana, optimizing costs using particle swarm optimization. The optimal configuration achieved an annual cost of $64,109 and energy cost of $0.065 per kilowatt-hour, outperforming alternative optimization methods.
