Drivers of Rural Entrepreneurship in Northern Ghana: A Community Capitals Framework Approach

Summary. Rural communities in northern Ghana possess strong cultural, social, and political capital that supports entrepreneurship, along with some human capital strengths. However, severe financial capital shortages and gaps in human capital skills significantly limit entrepreneurial development and sustainability. The study identifies these barriers and assets to help policymakers design more effective entrepreneurship programs for poverty reduction.
