Microfinance as a Tool of Socio Economic Empowerment of Rural Women

Summary. Microfinance through self-help groups empowers rural women in Assam, India by providing sustainable income sources. The study collected primary data from women in rural areas with SHG experience and found that microfinance significantly improves their socio-economic conditions. The research demonstrates microfinance's proven success in developing Asian countries and identifies strong potential for continued growth in Northeast India.
