Decentralized Solar Energy Access and Assessment of Performance Parameters for Rural Communities in India
Summary. Solar energy policies in rural India have created opportunities for decentralized renewable energy, but the market has stalled due to poor promotion, weak financial models, and negative perceptions among low-income households. The paper examines energy poverty in remote communities and identifies why solar technologies fail to expand despite government support. It proposes strategies to overcome market barriers and accelerate adoption of decentralized solar systems in underserved areas.
