Summary. Microfinance provides banking services to low-income rural residents excluded from traditional financial systems. A study of 155 people in Chikkaballapura District, India found that microfinance participation increased financial holdings and improved living standards. Respondents reported that microfinance stimulated economic growth, demonstrating its importance for rural development, particularly benefiting rural women.
