The association between rurality, places of care and the location of death of long-term care home residents with dementia: A population-based study

Statistics Canada · 2024 · PubMed

Summary. This study analyzed 65,375 long-term care residents with dementia in Ontario between 2014 and 2019. Urban LTC homes sent residents to hospitals at roughly double the rate of rural homes, suggesting geography shapes end-of-life care patterns for dementia patients.
