This systematic review of 19 studies examines techno-economic models and financial strategies for rural electrification using renewable energy. Researchers found that existing financial models primarily calculate electricity costs and net present value, relying on government, private, or mixed funding. The review emphasizes that government support remains essential to make renewable energy projects economically viable in rural regions.
