Summary. Rural entrepreneurship in India's Tripura state is constrained by socio-economic factors beyond government support programs. Despite decades of initiatives since 1952 to promote rural entrepreneurship, limited improvements in entrepreneurs' lives suggest other barriers exist. This study identifies the specific socio-economic factors influencing rural entrepreneurship growth in Tripura villages, recognizing rural entrepreneurs as critical drivers of employment and wealth creation in India's villages.
