Outdoor-to-indoor propagation loss measurements for broadband wireless access in rural areas
Summary. This paper measures how radio signals from WiMAX broadband systems penetrate into rural homes in Germany. Researchers tested two frequencies (825 MHz and 3500 MHz) and found that walls without windows blocked 10-20 dB of signal strength, while windows reduced this loss by 5-6 dB. The authors developed a prediction model to estimate penetration loss for rural broadband deployment planning.
