Innovation and Sustainable Development Pathways of Elderly Education Models in Rural China—A Qualitative Dual-Case Study from Fujian Province
Summary. This study examines two elderly education models in rural Fujian Province, China, using surveys and interviews. Cultural embeddedness drives model differences: one village activates local networks through community elites, while the county builds standardized services through policy channels. Repurposing idle spaces creates social networks and economic benefits. The research proposes a demand-capital-policy framework and recommends asset-light operations and policy pilot zones to improve elderly education sustainability under resource constraints.
