Gender and renewable energy in rural Nigeria.
Summary. Poor women in rural Nigeria rely on traditional biomass fuels that harm their health and wellbeing. Expanding access to renewable energy sources can reduce this burden while advancing multiple development goals: poverty reduction, improved health and education, environmental protection, and women's empowerment.
