Business Model Design for Rural Off-the-Grid Electrification and Digitalization Concept
Summary. Microgrids can provide electricity to remote rural areas in Sub-Saharan Africa, but lack clear business models. This paper analyzes an integrated off-grid concept delivering renewable electricity, internet connectivity, and digital services together using a business model canvas approach. The authors propose a framework for developing sustainable rural microgrids in Sub-Saharan Africa.
