Summary. Microfinance institutions and self-help groups play a critical role in reducing poverty and driving economic development across rural India, where 70 percent of the population lives and depends heavily on agriculture. The study examines how microfinance reaches rural communities through NGOs and local organizations, demonstrating their effectiveness in addressing financial exclusion and supporting economic growth in underserved areas.
