The Impact of Microfinance on Socio- Economic Empowerment of Rural Women and Improving the Standard of Living in Karnataka.

Summary. Microfinance through self-help groups (SHGs) and bank linkage programs in Karnataka significantly improves rural women's economic empowerment and living standards. The study analyzes NABARD data from 2016-17 to 2020-21, showing how increased savings, financial inclusion, and women entrepreneurship initiatives reduce poverty among rural poor communities. Five independent variables facilitate poverty alleviation through microfinance mechanisms.
