Socio-Economic Empowerment of Women Through Microfinance: A Case Study of Baijnath Rural Municipality, Banke

Summary. Microfinance programs significantly empower rural women in Nepal's Baijnath Rural Municipality by increasing their income, economic independence, and decision-making authority. Women accessing microfinance services gain control over resources, improve family relationships, and participate more actively in household and community decisions. The study found that 58% of participating women own land, over half work in retail, and most make decisions about children's education and healthcare, demonstrating measurable gains in economic standing and social influence.
