Nurse Policy Entrepreneurship in a Rural Community: A Multiple Streams Framework Approach

Summary. Nurses in a rural Midwest community used the Multiple Streams Framework to drive policy change reducing motor vehicle crashes. By merging community problems, policies, and political conditions, they created a new Nurse Policy Entrepreneur role that successfully gained judicial approval for a teen-driver-offender policy. The framework proved effective for nurses advocating public health improvements.
