The Economics of Renewable Energy Expansion for Rural Households

Summary. Solar energy adoption significantly reduces household energy costs in rural areas, cutting expenses by 71.2 percent. The study surveyed 180 rural households and found that socio-economic factors like household size, age, and income moderate this relationship. Demographic characteristics influence how much households benefit from solar panels. Policymakers should incentivize solar installation on buildings to lower energy costs and environmental impact.
