Rural Entrepreneurship as a Sustainable Livelihood Alternative for the Returnee Migrants: Reviewing the Potentials and Challenges

Summary. Rural entrepreneurship offers returnee migrants in Bangladesh a sustainable livelihood alternative, particularly following pandemic-related job losses. While remittances historically remain underinvested, the study finds that entrepreneurship can build migrant resilience if supported by adequate skills training and solutions to infrastructure and socio-political barriers. Success requires local development organizations, incubation centers, and peer support networks.
