Identification of indigenous technical knowledges (ITKs) as climate smart agriculture (CSA) technology
Summary. This study identifies fifty-one indigenous technical knowledges (ITKs) used by small and marginal farmers in Bangladesh as climate-smart agriculture practices. Most farmers used ITKs at medium levels, with seed soaking for germination being most common (90.3%) and traditional livestock treatments least common (1.82%). Farmers face barriers to ITK adoption, primarily preferring modern commercial inputs over traditional methods. Farmers believe combining ITKs with environment-friendly modern techniques offers the best solutions for climate adaptation.
