Summary. This study examines how Girimekar Village in Indonesia transitioned from conventional vegetable farming to coffee-based agroforestry. Through interviews and observation, researchers found that the shift involved more than crop change—it required collective learning, hybrid knowledge systems, improved land access, and strengthened networks among farmers, officials, and facilitators. Coffee agroforestry stabilized as a viable innovation through local experimentation, ecological fit, and market expansion, supported by collaborative governance schemes.
