Exploring Mission-Oriented Innovation Ecosystems for Sustainability: Towards a Literature-Based Typology

Summary. This paper develops a typology of mission-oriented innovation ecosystems designed to address sustainability challenges. By analyzing literature and using bibliometric methods, the author finds that ecosystems vary significantly depending on their mission type, with differences in which actors participate and their roles throughout innovation processes.
