Realizing smart microgrid electricity solutions for rural communities using a hybrid microgrid system based on renewable energy sources
Summary. Researchers designed a smart microgrid system combining solar, wind, battery storage, and diesel backup to supply electricity to remote rural areas without grid access. Using artificial neural networks and load-priority algorithms, the 1MW system successfully delivered stable power to multiple loads, prioritizing critical demands first. Testing in MATLAB Simulink confirmed the hybrid renewable approach effectively eliminates power outages in remote communities.
