Assessing the Impact of Off-grid Solar Electrification in Rural Peru
Summary. Engineers Without Borders-USA partnered with a rural Peruvian community to install off-grid solar photovoltaic systems, addressing electricity access that limited students' study time and device charging. A monitoring visit one year after implementation revealed the project's sustainability and identified key lessons about training, communication, socioeconomic impact, and community empowerment in rural electrification work.
