THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE COOPERATION IN REALIZING OF THE POTENTIAL OF THE RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE "GREEN" COURSE AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE RURAL AREAS

Summary. Energy cooperatives serve as the organizational foundation for establishing green economies and sustainable rural development. The paper demonstrates that cooperatives implementing renewable energy sources increase economic benefits for rural businesses, improve social welfare by reducing energy poverty, and advance environmental sustainability. Analysis of European countries shows that regions with more energy cooperatives have higher rates of adequate home heating, supporting the role of energy cooperatives in achieving energy democracy and the European Green Deal.
