Optimal energy scheduling of a standalone rural microgrid for reliable power generation using renewable energy resources
Summary. This paper designs an optimal energy scheduling system for a standalone rural microgrid in India using solar, wind, biogas, and diesel generators with battery storage. The researchers used differential evolution optimization to minimize costs and ensure reliable power supply. The optimized system achieves an energy cost of $0.22 per kilowatt-hour and outperforms particle swarm optimization and genetic algorithm approaches, making renewable microgrids economically viable for rural electrification.
