Bridging the digital divide in Sub-Saharan Africa: The rural challenge in Uganda
Summary. A 2002-2003 study in Uganda identified three key groups addressing the digital divide: information workers, business entrepreneurs, and policy makers. The research found that information workers and institutions like the National Library play a crucial role in bridging digital access gaps in rural Sub-Saharan Africa. The study used qualitative interviews and grounded theory analysis to understand strategies for connecting underserved populations to digital resources.
