Renewable Energy Perception by Rural Residents of a Peripheral EU Region
Summary. Rural residents in eastern Poland were surveyed to understand their attitudes toward renewable energy. The study found that residents are more likely to support renewable energy if they already practice energy-saving behaviors, have specific demographic characteristics, and recognize health risks from coal pollution. These findings can guide future programs to build rural support for renewable energy installations.
