Understanding rural entrepreneurship: A literature review of research directions and a proposal of conceptual framework based on the entrepreneur-place relationship
Summary. Rural entrepreneurship research is growing rapidly, but lacks a unified methodological approach. This paper systematically analyzes international literature to identify emerging research trends and proposes a new conceptual framework based on the entrepreneur-place relationship. The framework clarifies how rural entrepreneurs interact with their local contexts and identifies factors driving rural entrepreneurship development. The findings offer practical guidance for policymakers designing rural development strategies.
