Bridging the Divide: Digitalization and Young Rural Women in Bulgaria
Summary. Young rural women in Bulgaria face significant barriers to digital engagement, with 73% experiencing unreliable internet access and 67% lacking adequate digital literacy training. Structural inequalities rooted in limited infrastructure, gender norms, and educational gaps prevent these women from participating in the digital economy. The study calls for gender-sensitive policies expanding broadband access and digital skills programs to enable social mobility and regional economic growth.
