Impact of Gender-Specific Causes on Women Entrepreneurship: An Opportunity Structure for Entrepreneurial Women in Rural Areas

Summary. Gender discrimination, limited female education, and restricted access to capital drive women's entrepreneurship in rural Pakistan, while illiteracy, cultural restrictions, early marriage, weak government support, and male market dominance create major barriers. The study of 342 rural residents identifies these obstacles and argues that supportive environments and advanced opportunities can enable rural women entrepreneurs to contribute to social and economic development.
