How Does Internet Use Promote Farmer Entrepreneurship: Evidence from Rural China
Summary. Internet use significantly increases farmer entrepreneurship in rural China, particularly necessity-driven entrepreneurship. The effect operates through three mechanisms: improved risk attitudes, expanded social capital, and better information access. Social capital expansion accounts for the largest share of this impact. These findings suggest internet infrastructure investments can effectively promote rural entrepreneurship and economic development.
