Collaborative scheduling method of active-reactive power for rural distribution systems with a high proportion of renewable energy

Anjiang Liu, Xin‐Hao Li, Yue Li, Shuqing Hao, Yu Miao, Youzhuo Zheng, Junyu Xie, Qianqian Yao · 2024 · Frontiers in Energy Research

Summary. This paper develops an optimization method for scheduling power in rural distribution networks with high renewable energy penetration. The authors create an evaluation model to quantify active and reactive power support capabilities, then propose a collaborative scheduling approach that minimizes power losses, operational costs, and penalty costs. They build a platform to support safe grid operation and demonstrate their method reduces overload and overvoltage problems while improving security and economic efficiency.
