Predictive Maintenance and Reliability Modeling of Rural Broadband Networks: A Condition-Based Study of BharatNet Infrastructure

Summary. This study assessed broadband infrastructure reliability across 113 rural villages in Puducherry district, India. Researchers found that 87.6% of sites operated successfully, but significant technical problems persisted in earthing and solar systems. The findings demonstrate that predictive maintenance and real-time monitoring are essential to sustain rural broadband connectivity and support India's digital inclusion goals.
