Examining the Effects of Business Innovation Among Indigenous Small-Scale Businesses in Chongwe Constituency
Summary. This study examines how business innovation affects indigenous small-scale businesses in Chongwe Constituency, Zambia. Researchers surveyed 100 SMEs and found that technological innovation significantly drives business growth, with 74% of respondents agreeing innovation boosts competitiveness and profitability. However, most business owners lack basic financial management skills. The study recommends establishing an innovation fund and center of excellence to support SME innovation and creating regulatory environments that enable rather than hinder small business growth.
