Summary. This study examines how transformational leadership rooted in indigenous systems can develop Zimbabwe's harurwa (edible stinkbug) value chain in Bikita District. Through interviews with traditional leaders, entrepreneurs, and harvesters, the research finds that integrating indigenous knowledge with modern value chain management creates employment, improves food security, and enables rural industrialization. A hybrid leadership model combining cultural heritage with market-oriented innovation can transform local livelihoods and serve as a model for other African indigenous resource economies.
