Performance Comparison between Massive MIMO Based Network and Conventional LTE Network for High Speed Broadband Connection in Rural Areas of Tanzania

Marko Mwalongo, Kilavo Hassan · 2023 · Journal of ICT Systems

Summary. Massive MIMO technology outperforms conventional LTE networks for delivering high-speed broadband to rural Tanzania. Testing signal strength, noise ratios, and data throughput across different channel bandwidths and frequencies, massive MIMO achieved superior performance even at narrower bandwidths. The technology's efficiency at lower channel widths makes it more practical and cost-effective for rural deployment where infrastructure investment returns are slow.
