Summary. Indonesian researchers designed and implemented Virtual Class Box 5.0, a videoconference device that enables distance learning in rural areas where transportation and educational resources are scarce. The system operates on low bandwidth (under 2Mbps), uses open-source software and affordable hardware components, and includes a simple interface with minimal resource consumption. The portable device connects teachers and students across different schools and comes with instructional materials for widespread adoption.
