Does farmer entrepreneurship alleviate rural poverty in China? Evidence from Guangxi Province
Summary. Farmer entrepreneurship significantly reduces rural poverty in China's Guangxi Province. The study surveyed 309 farm business employees and found that socio-cultural capabilities most strongly drive entrepreneurship growth, which in turn substantially decreases poverty. The research recommends equipping rural farmers with entrepreneurial skills as a sustainable, bottom-up poverty reduction strategy that other developing countries can adopt.
