Reliability analysis of solar powered resilient quadratic boost converter for off grid rural homes
Summary. This paper develops a solar-powered boost converter with built-in redundancy to improve reliability for off-grid rural homes. The design uses an additional load capacitor to maintain stable 48V output even when the primary capacitor fails. The authors use FIDES methodology to quantify failure rates and validate their approach through simulation and experiments, demonstrating reduced voltage stress and sustained performance under fault conditions.
