Rural entrepreneurship and rural development in Nigeria

Summary. Rural entrepreneurs in Nigeria can drive development by leveraging local resources, increasing output, and creating employment while reducing urban migration. However, they face significant barriers including insufficient funding and lack of government support. The study surveyed 200 rural entrepreneurs and recommends that governments create enabling policies and assistance to make rural areas more attractive for entrepreneurial activity.
