Bridging the Digital Divide: Corporate-Rural Partnerships in MSMEs Transformation through Shopee Center

Summary. Shopee's Center program in an Indonesian village trained rural small businesses to sell online, providing digital literacy training, affordable internet access, and partnerships with local institutions. The initiative successfully helped traditional MSMEs adopt e-commerce and expand their markets. However, participation declined over time, and digital skills gaps and internet connectivity problems persisted. Sustainable rural digital transformation requires ongoing program adaptation and stronger multi-stakeholder collaboration.
