Empowering small farmers for sustainable agriculture: a human resource approach to SDG-driven training and innovation

Summary. Training programs significantly boost small farmers' adoption of sustainable agriculture when they combine sustained exposure, intrinsic motivation, and farmer innovation capacity. The study of 331 small farmers in a government intervention shows that psychological characteristics and training quality together drive sustainable practice adoption, advancing progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
