Sustainability Issues of Interest-Free Micro-Finance Institutions in Rural Development and Poverty Alleviation. the Bangladesh Perspective

Summary. This study evaluates the sustainability of interest-free microfinance institutions in Bangladesh, focusing on the Rural Development Scheme of Islamic Bank Bangladesh Limited. The research examines institutional, financial, and economic sustainability indicators and finds that the scheme operates sustainably while serving rural development and poverty alleviation. The author recommends policy guidelines to support interest-free microfinance expansion in similar regions.
