Indigenous technical knowledge practices at household and agriculture in Telangana state

Alam Prashanthi, Surkanti Prathibha, Khushboo Yadav · 2024 · International Journal of Agriculture Extension and Social Development

Summary. This study documents indigenous technical knowledge practices among 128 households in Telangana, India. Researchers found that villagers widely use traditional remedies like turmeric and neem for health issues, and apply traditional agricultural methods including ash, poultry manure, and compost to improve soil fertility. The findings demonstrate that indigenous knowledge remains central to local health and farming systems, and the authors argue for integrating these practices with modern science to support sustainable development.
