Understanding and preserving Indigenous agricultural knowledge: a suggested way forward for future research
Summary. Indigenous farmers have developed sustainable agricultural practices over centuries. This paper reviews 57 studies on Indigenous knowledge and sustainability to propose a research framework for understanding and preserving Indigenous agricultural knowledge. The authors argue that research must move beyond documentation to create shared digital databases and repositories while partnering directly with Indigenous farmers and communities.
