Transforming smart farming for sustainability through agri-tech Innovations: Insights from the Australian agricultural landscape

This systematic review of 131 articles examines how precision agriculture technologies—including IoT, drones, and AI—transform Australian farming by improving productivity and sustainability. While these technologies reduce resource waste and enhance climate resilience, adoption faces barriers including high costs and regulatory constraints. Agri-tech startups develop climate-adapted solutions, but equitable access remains limited for small-scale farmers and underrepresented groups. The authors propose that supportive policies, financial investment, and training programs are essential to enable broader, inclusive adoption of emerging agricultural technologies.
